I may be hanging out on a weak olive branch… but our principles and values do not and should never be considered too radical to our local police, fire-fighters, paramedics and our amazing military personal. We need show our gratitude whenever possible. Our generation and our children will need to rely on these individuals while we fight to uphold the principles of our Constitution.

They defend and serve so we can enjoy our God given Liberty.

Find a way communicate your gratitude. I am going to post this in my truck window (See Attached).

Interesting that you should mention this… as just last week I spoke with Sheriff Gary Raney again, in advance of their Association meeting this week in Moscow.  Considering the way our initial exchanges went earlier this year (to no meaningful conclusion), I felt it was important to reconnect and try again to share our concerns.  What follows here is an excerpt from my follow up communication.

“... to determine how we can move forward in providing our members/citizens the security and reassurance they are seeking from their local Sheriffs in Idaho.  As we discussed, there are likely many issues that we fundamentally agree on, yet trying to arrive at some common definitions that we can share is a real challenge.  For this reason, we are seeking some insight from you and the Association on how we might work together to make this happen.

There are growing concerns from the general population regarding the loss of liberty that will necessarily follow the ever increasing reach of the Federal Government, now into areas far beyond those enumerated by our Constitution.  Additionally, we are concerned that this Administration has now labeled us… ordinary, hard working, law abiding, tax paying, respectful and morally sound Americans, as a threat to our national security simply because we are voicing our dissent.  Yet this same Administration refuses to publicly acknowledge the threat from those who openly profess to destroy our way of life.

Everything is upside down… what was once good (religion, morals, success) is now bad, and what was once bad (self indulgence, irresponsibility, socialism) is now good.  Tea Partiers, the most peaceful activists in history, are being called “violent extremists” because we raised our voices.  While, property bashing, bottle throwing immigration protesters are being tolerated as “civil rights proponents”, and the trespassing union thug protesters are allowed to terrorize someone’s home and child, completely unabated by the local police “for fear they might antagonize them”.

Is it really such a stretch that some of us might be “thinking the unthinkable” now?

Please share these thoughts with your Association members, so they may gain a better understanding of our concerns, and why we are seeking some reassurance from those who have the “ultimate authority” at home…”

This is (in part) a move in the direction being promoted by Beck this summer, to restore honor among our citizens in the hope we may learn again what it means to be honorable and to be Americans.  Who represents that better than the military and “right-minded”, constitutionally sound law enforcement?  The natural reciprocal response from citizens should be gratitude, right?  But must in happen in that order, or might the order be reversed?  That brings us to your point, and it’s a point well taken.  One that we’re thinking will play a role in our summer rally, in fact!

Our theme this year is “Restoring Honor and Defending Liberty”, with keynote speaker Sheriff Richard Mack.  We’re hoping it will also include law enforcement and military.  I hope you will be a part of it, too.  Thanks for your insightful commentary!

Family Patriot, as I look more closely at the image you are proposing to display and share, I see that you are using the name “912 Project Idaho” in your design.  You are certainly free to use a general reference to 9 Principles and 12 Values, but we have not endorsed this particular design to be used with our business name.  While we appreciate your enthusiasm and support, you should know that we have officially now registered this name, so respectfully ask that you remove 9-12 from your image.

Thanks for your understanding,

Valerie Candelaria
